Passionate Creativity Collides with an Unyielding Wild Cryptid Artist.

Many of you have wondered; where did it begin? What is the driving force behind Armand of Haus Valtieri? The origination story isn’t an easy one to tell, but I think it’s time.

Haus Valtieri is truly the result of unrelenting existence and the choke hold creativity has on every artist.

This business is the result of a continually declining physical disability and being tangled in surviving being trafficked into domestic servitude keeping Armand locked into an extremely uncertain circumstance and life situation, with a fiery passion to want something better. Knowing something more than unpaid unrelenting manual labor wrecking his spirit and body had to be somewhere in the future. It was a dream, and a little spark of hope that was nurtured carefully since 2018, starting six months after his getting ensnared in rural VA to forced labor. He had ran a successful handmade sewing business previously in his former time in Iowa, so he knew it was possible with enough resilience and determination.

For the first two years Haus Valtieri was focused on creating custom made plush creatures primarily through Armand’s personal Facebook page. January of 2020 Haus Valtieri became something bigger and more hopeful than before, that marks when Etsy became the landing pad for clients ordering in stock and custom made plushes, resin charms, wallets and shortly into 2020, cloth masks. Much of the early Pandemic Armand used any free time he had creating cloth masks to donate to hospitals, schools and the local military, any extras were then donated for general public distribution. After the huge need for masks was subsided by industry catching up with disposable masks, they then became a small for profit portion of the Etsy store front. Then in 2021 Armand debuted for the first time as an in person business, offering his wares are a local Farmers Market, even landing on the front page of the paper with his first Pop Up Market experience! During the time between the next appearance Armand was able to sustain escaping the situation he was stuck in for years through online sales.

Starting in the early months of 2022 Haus Valtieri began showing up monthly with various pop up markets and events in the bigger central cities of Virginia. Never letting his physical disability keep him from nurturing that little spark that became a blazing glorious light. Persistence, passion, and a never relenting drive to keep improving has been the backbone of Haus Valtieri, that still continues to be the case. Always finding new things to create, to fuel that burning passion and deep gratitude for the support received from every customer, past and present. What a remarkable thing this little dream has become. It was the means of a better future, a fuller life. That generosity continues to be the starting point of even bigger Dreams and even more exciting things waiting to be created to show all of you wonderful people that your support and love is invaluable and treasured by Armand.
